The bushland comes alive with wildflowers during wildflower season, typically August to October. The trail commences at the eastern end of Hill Street in Gooseberry Hill, where a white gate marks the start of the track. Just past the white gate is the first Shire of Kalamunda posted high on a tree, and a blue trail marker directing you to head to your right. The first part of the track is wide and follows a fence to your right.
Towards the end of the fence at its corner you will need to continue going straight ahead along a smaller, narrower track, you will find the blue trail marker not far along to confirm you are on the right path. There are a of forks along the path but age is fairly clear, with blue trail markers showing you which path to take. Please note that there is no car park at the start of the track, but there is space to park on the roide.
