DATE is pleased to present a special hybrid format for its event, as the situation related to COVID is improving but safety measures and restrictions will remain uncertain for the upcoming months across Europe and worldwide. In transition towards a future post-pandemic event again, DATE 20 22 will host a two-day live event in presence in the city of Antwerp just north of Brussels in Belgium , to bring the community together again, followed by other activities carried out entirely online in the subsequent days.
This setup combines the in-presence experience with the opportunities of on-line activities, fostering the networking and social interactions around an interesting program of selected talks and panels on emerging topics to complement the traditional DATE high-quality scientific, technical and educational activities. DATE conference is the main European event bringing together deers and de automation users, researchers and vendors, as well as specialists in the hardware and software de, test and manufacturing of electronic circuits and systems. The multi-day event consists of a conference with regular papers, complemented by panels, hot-topic sessions, tutorials, workshops, special focus days and executives.
The event will also host the Young People Program, the University Fair and Multi-Partner Projects dissemination on innovative research activities fostering the networking and the exchange of information on relevant issues, recent research outcomes and career opportunities. DATE 20 22 tutorials are deed to provide audiences with introductions to important topics in DATE technical areas as well as hands-on tutorials on de automation tools. Early career professionals as well as graduate students will benefit from the introductory-level material on these important topics and tools.
Mid-career professionals can also benefit from the tutorials to extend their horizons. We welcome submissions for tutorial presentations in DATE technical areas. Technical tutorials on selected topics will be given by leading experts in their respective fields. The submission should motivate the topic and its relevance for both academia and industry, specify whether it covers foundational topics or cutting-edge ones, describe the target audience expected type of attendees?
Hands-on tutorials are welcomed. Moreover, the submission should include a brief abstract with a list of learning objectives, and a clear planning hereto organisation in sessions, possible speakers, what will be done to attract the audience , and the DATE Topic to which it is more closely related. In particular, we look for hands-on and tutorials on fundamentals which should clearly identified in the proposal. Extended conference talks will not be accepted as tutorials. The Young People Program is an initiative targeting PhD students with the goal of supporting their career development. PhD students will have an opportunity to present themselves to potential employers from EDA and microelectronics industries. If there is interest from company side, interviews will be arranged during the DATE conference.
The initiative also includes activities to improve networking, seminars on how to present themselves effectively to HR representatives, and panels to stimulate discussion on how to publish effectively. The forum is a great opportunity for PhD students who have completed their PhD thesis within the last 12 months or who are close to complete their thesis to present their work to a broad audience in the system de and de automation community from both industry and academia.
